Sapphire 11: Wish I Had a Better Excuse
Author: Kat
Title: Wish I Had a Better Excuse
Story: Shine Like It Does
Colors: Sapphire 11 (lapis lazuli) with thisbluespirit's paint by numbers (Miranda – Annoyed)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Boys, Charli XCX), miniature, novelty beads (Absence - that common cure of love. - Lord Byron)
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Summary: Miranda was thirteen when her friends discovered boys.
Warning: none
Notes: none
Miranda was thirteen when her friends discovered boys, and it drove her insane.
She liked boys too. She liked how their new muscles flexed, how their voices bounced up and down, how they flushed when they talked to her. How she flushed too, sometimes, how her body learned new heat; how her friend Diego’s blue eyes turned lapis, now.
But Miranda had other priorities, other things to do. From the way her friends talked you’d never know they had the same once. She felt, sometimes, that even she was unimportant to them.
She did not like that feeling at all.
