“I actually have a headache,” Sam muttered as he woke up. “And I might throw up.”
“Welcome to the wonderful world of hangovers,” Eileen mumbled.
“This is a first.”
“So you said.”
“No, not that,” he said. “Well, yes, that, but also this. Waking up with a woman.”
She snorted. “Yeah? What’s the verdict?”
“You’re comfortable.”
“Glad you think so.” She stood and he followed, the both of them heading for the kitchen. “Oh, god, the frozen pizza wasn’t a dream.”
He snickered as he got them each a glass of water. “No, no it wasn’t,” he said. “Or the discount wine.”
“Where’s the aspirin?” she asked.
“There should be some down here.” He opened one of the cabinets and pulled out a bottle from a top shelf. “Success.” He took two and handed her the bottle, swallowing them with a swig of water. “God, my mouth is so dry.”
Eileen fished out her own pills and took them, then rubbed her head. “My head kills.”
“You win.” Sam picked up the remaining piece of pizza and sniffed it.
Eileen gave him a baleful look. “If you eat that, I will kill you.”
“Don’t worry. This would definitely make me throw up.” He tossed it into the trash.
“We may need pancakes.”
“Between the two of us, that should be doable.”
“Where’s Torey?”
“Still sleeping?” Sam guessed. “Who knows how late he got in last night.”
“True.” She yawned and then finished drinking the rest of her water. “Oh, there you are,” she said, and Sam glanced over to see Torey walking into the kitchen.
He gave them an amused look. “How are you feeling?”
“Someone didn’t hit me in the head a few dozen times, I’m guessing,” said Eileen.
“Seems doubtful,” Torey agreed.
“I’ve felt better.”
“We found aspirin,” said Sam.
“I see that,” he said. “I also saw where you guys fell asleep last night.”
“Sam has decided that I’m comfortable.”
Torey grinned at Sam. “She is.”
“See? He agrees.”
“So frozen pizza?” Torey asked Eileen.
“We were…very drunk.”
“Yes, off wine that cost less than ten dollars? Where did you even get that? I had some of it. It tasted worse than the time Johnny and I tried to make our own wine.”
“It was a dare,” Sam admitted. “We went to a convenience store. That’s where we got the pizza, too. Well, she did. She’s the one who grabbed it.”
“I didn’t hear you objecting. In fact, you encouraged it.”
Torey raised his eyebrows. “A dare.”
“We played truth or dare,” Eileen said.
He shook his head, laughing. “I guess that explains the voicemails Johnny and I got…”
Sam and Eileen exchanged a look and snickered. “Yes,” Sam said. “Yes, it does.” He looked at Eileen. “I vote Torey makes us pancakes.”
“Mm, yes, I vote that too.”
They turned as one and looked at him expectantly. He laughed again. “Okay, okay, I will make you pancakes.”
“Excellent,” Eileen said, sitting at the island. Sam joined her. “So, Torey. Did you know Sam wants to have sex in a moving vehicle?”
Sam coughed into his water. “Eileen wants to in an elevator!”
Torey just stared at them. “I’m making pancakes,” he said, turning for the pantry.
Eileen and Sam exchanged another look before breaking into laughter.

"We offended my good sensibilities about food enough last night, and you do not have the excuse of being drunk now."
or:
If he'd eaten it, I don't think she would have cooked for him for a month.
