A dragon, great and
grand, flew down from the skies. Yosaba held Annora close, pointing to the
dragon with wonder. "Look!"

The dragon opened
it's maw...

... and breathed fire upon the
town.

Annora opened his eyes.

"Good
mornin'!" Said Dolly, her cream fur and fluffy coat right up in
Annora's face. "Got any prophetic dreams? Other than the dragon
one, of course."

"Nah." Annora said, getting up to his
feet, bumping up against a flower that was placed on his
side.

"'Suppose ya dunno what it means
yet?"

Annora shook his head, before hopping atop the windowstill
and looking outside. "Huh, a festival."

"Yeah!
They're gonna celebrate, and at the same time, this comet's gonna
show up, conventionally. It'd be the sight of a lifetime, ya
know?"

"Of course it would, Dolly dear." Rudy mumbled
sleepily, before stretching and walked over to Dolly, rubbing his black
cheeks against her orange ones. "My lovely Dolly."

"In
fact, I think our kits will be born today! So it's a three-in-one,
huh?"

"Huh. What are you gonna name
them?"

"Not sure yeah, but we'll figure out
somethin'" Dolly curled tails with Rudy. "Won't we,
honey?"

"'Course we will."

After Rudy
and Dolly left the room, Annora decided to go outside and do some
exploring, looking at what exactly the humans are up to.

It
didn't take long to see Rosey Ann giving a bouquet of flowers to
Jakey.

"But- but- now?" Jakey asked, tears in his eyes.
"Now? Of all times?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't
stay for longer, Jakey." Rosey said. "But... if I don't go
now, they'll never take me."

"And the
comet?"

"I'll see it from the apartment. They've
got it all set up and everything."

"Alright...
Goodbye." Jakey took the flowers
gently,

"Goodbye." She ran off towards the train
station.

Annora walked towards Jakey, who was currently cradling the
flowers like a dead body.

"Did you know this would happen,
Prophecy Cat?" Jakey asked through tears, crouching down to
Annora's level.

Annora's mind flashed back to the flower near
him when he woke up, before he meowed and hopped in Jakey's
lap.

"Who's a good kitty? Good Prophet Kitty, you'd do
anything so none of us get hurt..." Jakey pet Annora with one hand.
"...But even you'd let her leave, it's not fair to force
someone to stay..." He looked at the flowers again. "...At least
she liked being here with me."

"Prophecy Cat!" Yosaba smiled,
holding Annora close to her. They were in the schoolyard, just the two of
them, and in the sky was a green shooting star. "Isn't it so
pretty?"

Annora watched as a red star fell from the
green one.

"... Huh?! I didn't know that another
one would show up! It's even prettier now!"

Hey,
was that star-?

BOOM!

Yosaba
yelped. "Come on, Prophecy Cat, let's go see it up
close!"

She ran, and ran, and ran to
see...

"DADDY!" Yosaba yelled. "DADDY, WAKE
UP! Can I keep the part of the comet that fell here? Can I? Can I? Can
I?" She shook her father, letting Annora go to look around the sights.
"Daddy! Please wake up!"

"... Dolly?
Rudy?" Annora looked around to see...

Rudy's flesh
was exposed, blood pooling around his corpse. Nearby, Dolly
wailed.

Annora woke with a start. The air was still as he
breathed, realizing what's to come...

"And if you look
outside RIGHT NOW, you'll see it!" The announcer on the TV
announced. "Comet Draco's at it's brightest tonight! It
won't be back for another century, so savor it while you
can!"

I need to save everyone. Was Annora's
first thought.

"Humans!" Annora wailed, running into the
festival. "You need to leave! Quickly!" He spotted Rudy chatting
with Cody. "Ruby! Cody! You need to leave! The comet's gonna spilt
in half!"

"Alrighty!"

"On
it!"

Annora kept running. "To the schoolyard! The
schoolyard is safe!"

"What's that cat caterwailing
about?" One of the tourists asked.

"My, I have no idea--
but based off of everything he's done for us, we better follow
him!" The mayor's big poofy mustache wiggled as he
spoke.

"Is it really true that cats like these can tell the
future?"

Annora kept running. "The schoolyard! Everyone go
to the schoolyard! You'll die if you don't go to the
schoolyard!"

"Hey, is that
Annora?"

"Something's going
on!"

"Why's Annora freaking
out?"

"Maybe it's a bomb..."

With the humans
following his trail, Annora ran up to the
schoolyard.

"Annora!" Yosaba waved. "And-- Mommy!
Daddy! Everyone?!"

"Annora bought us here,
honey." Yosaba's mom smiled. "Alrighty, Prophet, what is
it?"

"There's no way that cat brought us all the way
here just for this girl, surely?"

"Look, Mommy!"
Yosaba pointed to the comet. "It made a baby!"

Annora
breathed a sigh of relief, before a vision flashed before his
eyes.

Oh. Oh no.

Annora jumped off and ran, back to
where the festival was.

"... You alright, Cody?" Jakey
looked around. "... Where's your kid? Where's
Jally?"

"...The
chance of what split off from Comet Draco hitting anywhere populated by
people is so minuscule it might not even exist..." The TV woman spoke
as Annora jumped from stand to stand, mind only focused on Jally.
"So enjoy the view! We'll be searching for it to report it once it
has landed."

Annora jumped to the ground and slid under a stand,
already opening his mouth to snag a mouthful of fluff before he even
realized Jally was there.

Jally yelped and started blubbering as
Annora turned around and ran over to the schoolyard. "Annora, I should
have listened to you but I didn't know where to go and I got so scared
and I thought maybe I could hide-"

If Annora was fast enough, if
he was quick enough...

... Then even though his town would be
destroyed, him and everyone he knew and loved would still be
alive.

"Mommy!
I think Annora's gonna see the baby up close!" Yosaba pointed to
the falling comet, her black ponytails bouncing from her
energy.

"Well, I hope it'd be a good sight for him, at
least..." Yosaba's mother sweatdropped.

"Jally!
Annora!" Cody meowed out.

"Are Jally and Annora gonna be
ok?" Asked Jay, Jally's orange sibling.

"I... I
don't know." Cody hugged Jay close.

"Annora
wouldn't throw his life away like that." Dolly spat. "He went
to save Jally 'cause he knew he'd live it,
surely."

"Annora can't see everything,
remember?" Rudy sweatdropped. "...Still, I hope you're
right."

"Look! I think it's really
gonna-"

BOOM!

A wind flowed from the crater,
cutting through the null wind like butter.

"Annora!
Jally!"

"No... no..." Rudy's eyes glazed over,
before Dolly swat at him.

"Look over there, honeybuns!"
Dolly ran off, and meowed loudly. "They're
alive!"

Indeed, Annora stood there, teeth clasped around
Jally's scruff, alive and well, before collapsing onto the floor, teeth
releasing the scared Jally.

"DAD!" Jally ran over to Cody.
"Dad, will Annora be ok?"

As the wind shifted directions-
as it blew towards the crater instead of away- Cody could only say. "I
hope so."

Annora
awoke in a flower field.

To his right, he saw Jakey, with
Cody, Jay, and Jally beside him. Jakey seemed to be chattering excitedly
about something, while Cody was letting Jay and Jally ride on his
back.

To his left, he saw Yosaba holding Dolly, with Rudy
following behind, and holding onto him were three kittens- a calico, a
black tabby with a white underside... and one with their white markings
mixed with fur that was just Annora's not-quite-white
color.

Annora turned around.

Waiting for him
were a few cats. He couldn't pick out any details, except that one also
had fur like his own, most likely with visions to match.

He
walked forwards...

Annora woke up on
flowers.

"Annora!" Yosaba smiled, tears in her eyes.
"You're awake! Thank you so so much for saving everyone!" She
placed a flower near him. "... I'm sorry we all have to go our
separate ways. Mommy says I get to live with Nancy for a bit and Daddy says
you'll find your own way."

Dolly walked over to Annora,
holding the same tiny kitten Annora saw in his dream, before placing them
down. "Take a look at this, won'tcha?"

"...
Indeed." Annora got up and stretched. "Just like
me."

"Yosaba already named them after ya before we even
could think 'bout it." Dolly snorted. "Just 'cause of the
fur."

Annora looked at all of the yellow flowers surrounding
him. "... Seems like everyone liked having me
here."

"Ya liked them so much you wouldn't even let a
branch fall on them if ya could help it!" Dolly laughed.
"They'd have to have gall to not be thankful,
especially after now!"

"Cody's going with Jakey,
isn't he? And bringing his kits?"

"Indeed. And
ya?"

"... I'll figure it out." Annora said.
"The future I saw for myself seems to be a kind
one."

"Yosaba! Time to go!" Yosaba's mother called
out.

"Mommy, Annora's awake!"

"That's
nice, sweetie, I'll share that with everyone. Say bye to
Annora!"

"Bye Annora!" Yosaba waved goodbye to him,
before getting up off the ground and running off to her mother. Dolly
grabbed her kit- a tiny little bean of a kitten- and walked off, as
well.

Annora closed his eyes and took a nap.

"Annora,
is it?"

Annora woke up to a deer with massive antlers and
thousands of eyes floating around them. "Indeed. And you
are?"

"I am Nestor." He spoke. "They called you
'Prophecy Cat', did they not?"

"They
did."

"This title you're had since your youth... how
would it feel to learn a part of it isn't even
true?"

"... I am a prophet." Annora turned to face the
crater of where his hometown used to be- where Yosaba's house used to
be, where the festivals used to be, where the children used to laugh and
play, where the people used to pet him and thank him as he laid there
watching the sights, and where his friends used to
be"If it were not for me..."

"Indeed.
But you are not a cat."

"So I am not. Does it matter?"
Annora turned back around to see a portal in front of
him.

"That portal will take you to Not-Earth." Nestor
spoke. "Wherever you choose to find a new home, I do not judge. May it
be here or there."

"Where would I even go if I
stayed?" Annora spoke, before he jumped.

"Snowsparkle." Nestor spoke. "Have
you ever wished to befriend a fellow Null cat?"

"...I
have... seen him already..."
Snowsparkle spoke.
"...Annora..."

Annora stepped out of the shadows.
"Greetings, Snowsparkle."

Snowsparkle slowly blinked her
eyes in greeting, before walking off. "...Follow...To
home..."

And Annora did.

Oh wow, the tension in this story is great.
