Out the door and downtown. No friends ‘cause they didn’t need any, no money ‘cause they didn’t have any. Just the two of them running through the night, dodging cops, yelling for the hell of it. Stuff he never would’ve done alone. Never would’ve been brave enough.
Danny lived her life out loud. It got her into trouble- him too, sometimes- but it felt so much more honest than anything he’d ever done.
So he always, always followed.
