Daffodil 10: the glory of a summer sky
Author: Kat
Title: the glory of a summer sky
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Daffodil 10 (fresh grass)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 6: Price Tag, Jessie J), miniature, frame, fabric (a concert)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Summer in summer.
Warning: none
Notes: The Sculpture Garden concerts are a real thing! And free, if you happen to be near DC. Title from Emily Bronte.
It is summer, her namesake season, and she has had both her boys for a little over six months. Summer wants to celebrate.
The Sculpture Garden holds free concerts every Friday; today’s is jazz, and she likes jazz. Her boys will meet her when they’re off shift, but she’s come early because it’s her day off, and she likes the Sculpture Garden too.
There aren’t a lot of people here yet. She takes her shoes off and steps onto the grass-- it’s fresh and green and smells like summer.
She tilts her head back to feel the sun, and smiles.
