Amaranth #12
Name: shadowsong26
Story: The Shine of It
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Amaranth #12. Philosopher's Stone
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 6: Second Stage), photography, brush (jaunty), watercolors, feathers (Jean Lafitte)
Word Count: 136
Rating: PG
Characters: Taz
Warnings: Nope, don't think so.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Taz was sometimes a pirate, and sometimes an honest merchant. Of course she knew how valuable gold was--not just for things, but for the show of wealth and status.
And she cared about status, and what it bought for herself and her family and her Clan.
But deep down--it wasn’t what mattered. Not what really mattered. Not like the feel of the wind on her face; the sun above and the sea below; her sister at her back; Dallu in her bed; and her ship and her crew; sailing and fighting and living.
Money was nice, sure. She liked the shine of it, and all it represented.
But a choice between gold and her Morning Glory, and the people she sailed for and with…
Yeah. There was no question at all what she’d pick.
