Skylight 16, Daffodil 2: In Your Dirty Room
Author: Kat
Title: In Your Dirty Room
Story: Shine Like It Does
Colors: Skylight 16 (Walk by there every day on the way to work), daffodil 2 (first of May)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 2: I Can't Stay Away, The Veronicas), photography
Word Count: 180
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Jack hated himself a little more every time he woke up in Ricky's bed.
Warning: unhealthy relationship.
Notes: Jack's exes, take two. The daffodil prompt is an elaborate joke and I'm not sorry.
Jack hated himself a little bit more every time he woke up in Ricky’s bed.
Oh, but it was Rich now. Played better with his new solo career, like being queer didn’t. Like Jack didn’t.
It was convenient at first; hot bandmate, good in bed. Keeping each other company. But then Ricky was so sweet, and so weirdly dorky, and so in love with music, and for the first time in his life Jack found himself in love. For the first time he was willing to give up everything just for the chance to be with Ricky.
Ricky wasn’t.
But it wasn’t over. They kept ending up in bed. They were so good together, Jack forgot for a while that Ricky- Rich- didn’t love him enough. He’d fall asleep in Ricky’s arms and wake up at four am to Rich telling him he had to leave.
Every time he promised himself it was the last time. Every time he swore he’d move on. Every time he thought a little less of himself.
Every single time, he knew he was lying.
