Daffodil 10, Yellow 11, Tractor Red 13: Inevitable
Author: Kat
Title: Inevitable
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Daffodil 10 (fresh grass), yellow 11 (yellow journalism), tractor red 13 (clothes on the line) with Nikki's paint-by-numbers (Gail asks Ivy why her clothes have so many grass stains.)
Supplies and Materials: Canvas (Ivy is about seven), brush (rash), chalk (riding into the sunset).
Word Count: 120.
Rating: G.
Summary: So much for family picture day.
Warnings: none
Notes: I've done this too.
"You see," Ivy began, "it was inevitable, 'cause Kiki challenged me to a hill race at recess but there aren't any hills in our playground so we had to wait 'til the weekend. And Daddy took me to the park first. And Kiki said if I didn't roll down the hill then it was just 'cause I couldn't beat her and I knew I could. So I had to. Even though it was my nice clothes." She smoothed a hand down the skirt, nervously, then added, "I won."
Her mother sighed. "Child of mine," she began, then stopped, rubbing her forehead. Finally, she said, "I think it's time you learned to do your own laundry."
Somehow, Ivy was not reassured.

Poor long-suffering Gail, lol.
Great work!

I bet Gail whips that story out whenever she can, just to embarrass Ivy.
(is it wrong that now I want to see Ivy telling Gail about something similar with Andy or Leah and have Gail cackle madly?)

(no, because it trufax happens. Andy is basically Ivy as a small child and Gail is SO HAPPY her child got hit with parental karma. XD)
