Lapis Lazuli #8, True Blue #14, Color of the Day
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Different
'Verse: Untitled Intrigues Story
Colors: Lapis Lazuli #8. vestige, True Blue #14. Sharing, Color of the Day (mishpocha)
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 3: Village Stage), photography, tapestry (True Blue + novelty beads), modeling clay (lethal incense), novelty beads
Word Count: 218
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Tahnrin
Warnings: Technically not actual incest, but Tahnrin and his niece have a mutual lover and this is about that. Also, backstabbing politics.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Tahnrin had had dalliances before. Several, of varying length and intensity. Most for politics, of course--everything was politics--but a few for pure pleasure.
The priest was different.
It was incredibly annoying how different Sefalin was, and how much he treasured the time he spent with the young man.
He might not call it love, precisely, but he didn’t have a better word for it, for the way Sefalin moved him.
Obviously, he wouldn’t say anything. Not yet. Perhaps not ever. But this feeling burning inside him, this new and strange and not-entirely-unwelcome feeling was certainly there. Something he would have to deal with, and guard against, as both internal and international affairs continued to escalate.
He thought of Sefalin across the table from him, the first few buttons of his coat undone, his eyes alight as he talked through some point of theology or politics or--anything really, and…
His one consolation, really, was something he’d caught out of the corner of his eye, the last time Landelye had had their shared lover for the night. His niece, it seemed, was facing the same damned predicament.
But if both of them had to fall victim to this--problem--this love--at least they had had the vestige of good sense to do so with someone worthy.
