Skylight 12: the heart coming home
Author: Kat
Title: the heart coming home
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Skylight 12 (Friend's apartment)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Main Stage: Long Long Journey, Enya), stickers (Where are you happiest? Describe that place.)
Word Count: 200
Rating: PG
Summary: Olivia, flying back to New York.
Warning: none.
Notes: Olivia lived with her father and stepmother for a year after she was reunited with them.
The land rolls out beneath the plane, city lights picked out in tiny topaz stars. America from above is quiet, sleeping. Olivia could almost feel she's the only person alive in the world, if she didn't know, bone-deep, that she's not alone.
She cried when the plane took off. She's going to miss her father so much; her stepmother too. But Daddy's right, her home isn't with him anymore, and it hasn't been for a long time. She's leaving her family in San Francisco, yes, but she has a family in New York, too, and she can't wait to see them again.
Gina's going to pick her up at the airport, and she'll sleep on Danny's couch until she finds her own place. She'll see Lars again-- he and Danny are dating now, she can hardly believe it-- and Ivy, who has forgiven her. She'll see Aaron and little Summer, and maybe even... maybe even Jake. If he wants to. If he can forgive her like Ivy did.
But she won't think about that now. Olivia rests her forehead against the plane's window, feels the night chill against her skin. She's going home.
She's going home, and nothing else matters.
