Cool Black 2: just lie and burn
Author: Kat
Title: just lie and burn
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Cool black 2 (it can get you into trouble but it can't get you out)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Main Stage: Hard Way Home, Brandi Carlile), canvas (Danny is fifteenish), oils (unprecedented), nubs (from the Kids Are All Fucked Up section)
Word Count: 150
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The reason Danny doesn't do cocaine.
Warning: drug use.
Riker didn't want to give Danny the coke, but her dad was gone, her mom was imploding and Michael cried at night and weed just wasn't going to cut it anymore. And it worked for a while. Her nose burned but her heart flew; the stars whirled above her, the wind felt like silk on her skin. She tried to tell Michael how amazing it was, how incredible, babbling until the crash hit and she passed out on his floor.
When she woke, she felt terrible, foggy and tired, her hands shaking as she pushed herself off the floor. And Michael, sitting on his bed with his knees clutched to his chest, said, "Don't ever do that to me again."
Tears smeared his face. His hands were shaking too.
"I won't," she whispered.
Riker said the crash wasn't worth the high. Danny just didn't know he meant it like this.
