Jet Pack Blues #14, Jungle Green #3
Name: shadowsong26
Story: we need to talk
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Jet Pack Blues #14. Hope this is the last time, 'cause I'll never say no to you, Jungle Green #3. Afternoon downpour
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lilith Fair Day Six: Village Stage), tapestry (Jungle Green + Novelty Beads), canvas, brush (travail), modeling clay (what beast lurks), seed beads, novelty beads ("We can work this out, I believe, although it seems impossible." - The World Without, A Fine Frenzy)
Word Count: 157
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Fesha
Warnings: Rough period in a relationship.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Just under the wire...Will try to do something lighter tomorrow??? ((Also, these two do work things out, I promise; they have one of the longest/most successful marriages in this story.))
she waited, until selmid had been with them for a month; until she was pretty sure that it wouldn't hurt him or make him blame himself.
(maybe she should've waited longer, for that second, but there was a balance between other people's well-being and her own, and that was the best she could do.
she waited, too, until she was pretty sure she could have an actual conversation with her husband, instead of just yelling at him and making things worse instead of better.
(maybe she shouldn't have waited so long; maybe it would've been better to just rip the bandaid off and get it over with, even if they both said things they would regret later.)
but she'd waited as long as she could.
and one rainy afternoon, when all three boys were out of the house, and deshell came home early, she pulled him into the kitchen and took a breath.
"we need to talk."

I...don't know if I thought it through that much? I do all-lowercase shorts like this occasionally for effect. I think usually when it's something very quiet and internal but also Hugely Impactful? But there's probably more criteria than that, I'm just not sure I can articulate it, lol. It's just...a style choice and sometimes it Feels Right.

Yyyyyyyyeah, they have a massive fight, and then they figure out how to get past it. But there's still that Massive Fight first...not fun. Not at all fun.
