Joy loved Pride. The flags, balloons, and glitter, people dancing down the street, kissing and swinging each other around, parties, parades, floats, and fireworks. It was so full of... of joy, and the energy of the crowd buoyed her up for weeks afterward.
And this year. This year they could get married.
She left Michael in Seattle, flew back to New York, and slept on Aaron's couch just so she could be there to see all the people in wedding rings, holding each other so tight, loving each other so hard.
She'd never been so happy that she cried before.
