Summary: Oliver just really loves his wife, okay?
Notes Oliver and his wife (who does not have a name yet) are another City pair. He's a low-level government official who just kind of wants to make change happen and also happens to be the kind of angel that believes in spreading information as widely as he can. His wife is a witch, who not only explained to him what he was but is also just a wonderful person. She is kind of one of my favrites but that may be Ollie having a huge bias towards her.
Also hey, I finished Spring Green!

Sometimes when he's lost in thought, Ollie imagines what it would be like to be someone else. He thinks about living a different life, having a different wife. He thinks about having different friends and a different home.

It would be a peaceful life, one without the stresses of working for government or the strangeness of being what he is. It's easy and light and so, so boring.

His wife is in the doorway, smiling at him and telling him to come to bed. He tells her he can't right now, that there's pressing business to attend to.

She reminds him that harassing his coworkers at 3 AM is not urgent business and his boss will probably lecture him in the morning for doing just that.

He laughs, nodding. It's easy to agree with her when she's smiling at him like that. He's always been weak for her. Maybe he should be more concerned about that but it doesn't matter. She's worth everything to him.

"Do you want a drink?" And he knows what that means, knows that she'll whip him up something to help him sleep through the rest of the night because she knows him and knows he won't sleep unless he's had something to help him.

"Sure," he agrees. "Then bed?"

She nods, disappearing into the kitchen of their little house.

Ollie goes back to trying to get things done, even though at this point it's in vain. He knows when he's beat and she has him wrapped around her finger. Shutting his laptop, he gets up and goes into the kitchen.

"Hey you," he wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her on the back of the neck. He can tell she's smiling just by the shape of her shoulders. It makes him feel proud for pulling that out of her, even if it is pretty easy to do.

"You didn't make me come drag you away from the computer," she remarks, turning around in his arms before dropping a quick kiss n his lips. "Good boy."

He ducks his head a little and grins. "For you, I'll try and be the best."

She moves, picking up a cup and pressing it into his hands. "I know you will."

He feels his wings itching to come out, his body wanting nothing more than to wrap around her and keep her close. Sometimes he forgets how wonderful she is, how much he adores her, then little things like this happen and he's hit with it in full force.

"Hey you," he says, taking a sip and putting the cup down. "You're pretty great. You know that, right?"

She's beaming at him and it gets him straight in the heart. He's so, so in love with this woman, it's kind of ridiculous. He'd move the stars for her if he had t and, if he couldn't do that, he would paint her a whole new sky.

"You should finish your drink," she tells him gently. "Then we'll put on something and see if we can't get you to sleep a little."

"Okay," he says, taking a long drink from the cup, finishing most of it. "You pick tonight though? I'm already getting a little fuzzy."

"Of course," she says, watching him finish the rest of the liquid. Come on, let's go."

She takes his hand and he smiles, unable to keep the expression from dancing across his face. She is his world, she really is and even when he tries to fantasize about what things would be like without her, what a whole different life would look like, he realizes he doesn't want it if sh's not going to be there with him.
