Olympic Gold #5
Name: shadowsong26
Story: What Might Have Been
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Olympic Gold #5. bronze
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Halftime: Lillith Faire Main Stage), photography, miniature, canvas, oils, seed beads
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Characters: Telari
Warnings: References to the end of a romantic relationship.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Telari is Ineku's ex-girlfriend, and her name is rather confusingly similar to his future daughter-in-law's, isn't it...whoops...Last Olympic Gold!
Telari was surprised by how much the news of Ineku's impending marriage hurt.
She was happy. She had her own fiance. Her relationship with Ineku had only been a dreamlike week once a year. Still, he was handsome, and kind, and had cherished her. He would probably cherish the Princess, too.
She wasn’t jealous, exactly, but...
He was her first love. And such things, no matter what else changes, even if they were second- or third-best for you in the long run, never fade.
Telari just...wondered, that was all, about what might have been if she'd never let him go.

Telari will be happy, yes. And so will Ineku, most of the time. They ended up probably better off than if they'd stayed together.
But still, there's that whole feeling of 'what if.'
