Summary: They think she gave it all up for love.
Notes I feel like this is tied in with a universe I already ahvebut I'm not sure which. Possibily Church and War as there's some bird mythology that I need to explore but I need to poke that before I am certain.

She lets them think she gave it all up for love. That she traded away her life for the person who she fell hard and fast for. It's almost kinder that way.

However, it's far from true.

She wanted freedom, she wanted wind in her hair, an open sky before her. She wanted to know she could go anywhere and do anything.

And while it's not what hse received, it's closer. It's more than she had before.

Princesses are never set free, they are bound to their kingdoms, to their princes.

Owls, though? No one binds an owl to anything.
