First Light 12, Blue Caravan 9, Color Party 14: Glow
Author: Kat
Title: Glow
Story: In the Heart
Colors: First light 12 (Votive), blue caravan 9 (There's a reason not to want this but I forgot), color party 14 (Solferino)
Supplies and Materials: Seed beads, pastels (candles), acrylic (sentimental), chalk (a star like rainbow brite, but a bit bigger)
Word Count: 162
Rating: PG
Summary: Anna and Delia.
Warnings: None.
Notes: This was supposed to be a miniature but I can't bear to cut it down. For
thebonesofferalletters in this meme.
Delia cups her free hand around a candle when she lights it, and the flame glows through her fingers for a split second before she moves on. She looks like a saint, lighting candles. She has the right face for it, heart-shaped with large, dreamy eyes, but she smiles just a little wicked, like all the best people.
And the thing is, Anna should want to be with the men right now, with Delia's husband Ercole and his inner circle. They've been gone an hour or so and they left her behind, here with Delia and a handful of other people, and she knows they don't trust her yet. She'll have to fix that, but she can't do it now, and she has time.
She should want to be out with the men, doing her job, but all she wants to do is sit at this table with Delia, and watch her saint's eyes and sinner's smile in the warm candlelit night.
