for you i'd burn the length and breadth of sky;
Name: Mischa
Story: and as the daylight falls
Colors: bistre (If I'm to be damned for what I've done, I'll be damned in full and not by halves.), spark (will you even tell her if you decide to make the sky fall), vienna orange (Won't I die from lack of you?)
Supplies and Styles: canvas, charcoal
Word Count: 280
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: implied suicide. an apocalypse.
Summary: a world without you isn't worth saving. A would-be savior makes a choice. Reset, reset.
note: needs a story tag.
the world is ending in red on white. the world was already ending, and you were supposed to stitch the fragments back together, but your world has narrowed to this moment. you can’t. you can’t.
he made you promise. he made you promise, to live. you didn’t make him promise, because you didn’t think you needed to. and and and-
(but it wasn’t enough, was it? and you don’t you can’t you should have you-
it should never have been him)
he’s so small in your arms, your eyelashes heavy with tears. you don’t remember a life without him. a life without him at your side, in your reach. you can’t make him stay, no matter what you do. you can’t. it doesn’t matter that he doesn’t want to go. it doesn’t matter that you don’t want him to go.
(your love isn’t enough. you can stitch together a breaking world but you can’t stitch him back together. red on white.)
when the end comes, it comes in a thousand infinite shattered facets of calamity and silence, silence so heavy it steals your breath and shatters your heart.
you should. but you can’t. it’s worthless. worthless.
you can’t. you can’t. you can’t. you can hear the others running up, too late too late too late but-
(reset, reset. begin again. your broken heart’s last wish. a world without you isn’t worth saving.)
you curl around him, as if you could protect him this one last time, and shatter the sky, and wait for morning to come.

It's not quite a groundhog-style redo (I'd explain more but it would give things away) but I'm definitely going to be continuing the storyline.
