Platinum Blond #20, Blue Opal #4
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Adjusting
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Platinum Blond #20. Yes, I know it's the city that never sleeps, but guess what? I like to sleep!, Blue Opal #4. Even keel
Supplies and Materials: photography, miniature, canvas, watercolors (loud or quiet), oils
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Characters: Dallu
Warnings: Don't think so.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
One thing Dallu hadn’t expected, when he came south to find his Captain, was how loud life was on a ship.
Some of it was no surprise--nature noises, wind and water; those he could tune out, unless he needed to help the Captain and her sister calm a storm. And the rest, the shift-changes, the creaking wood and rigging...all necessary, none particularly irritating, just unexpected.
He never complained, of course, and in time he learned to tune those noises out, too, but it was nearly two weeks before he really learned how to fall asleep on the Morning Glory.

He does get used to it eventually! But he's very relieved when he and Taz finally move North after she retires.
Where I think she has trouble sleeping for a while, for the opposite problem...ah, well.
