There were many times when Nida was tempted to poison her father-in-law. For all that he was never actively cruel, she knew the cold, impersonal way he treated her mother-in-law had made her miserable. Nida adored Queen Fera, who had deserved so much better, and then died too soon, the catalyst for unimaginable horrors to come.
And then there was the way he pushed her beloved Sorell into going further into darkness, and…
The only reason she didn’t was that she feared she’d be found out, and then Sorell would never forgive her. And King Kellom wasn’t worth losing him.

Nida is a lot less restrained in this AU, but loving her husband and children is still the most important thing in her life, and she'll protect them over any other cause.

In all honesty, it genuinely wasn't intentional? But I was rereading/editing/etc, and I realized...welp, I did a thing. An awesome thing. I regret nothing.
(...and now Nida and Lucretia have to meet somehow. Which is slightly trippy because Lucretia and Rema are played by the same actress. And at some point I should actually write the Lux Spartacus AU...)
