Warnings: Er... sideboob? Also, injury and implied body horror.
Summary: In the first days, when humanity was new on Ge's earth, two figures stand out in history: the Lord of Sky, who kept the scattered remnants together and built a civilization based on compromise with the elements, and the Lord of Earth, whose exile led to a path of deeper communion. Eventually the Earth Lord had children, one of whom was Blossom, and... things got interesting.

Fire and pain shot through his feet as the vines caught up with him, lapping at his cuts and rooting him to the rocky ground. Desperate and ashamed, he tried to run.

Humility is rewarded, something felt at him, but he really was deluded and this time, he was going to die.

He fell to the earth as vines sprouted through him, landing hard on his left hand; he heard and felt his wrist snap and tried to scream. Blood welled up in his (not his) mouth as his (not his) breath turned to thorns of ice...

"I know you're there."

Open sky across the ocean, starless and gray; over the cliffs, far past the little huts and furrows daring to call itself a settlement. It was more a void than space ever had been. Slowly they stood up on the wreckage, spreading their arms out wide to balance.

"You're always there. Every world and every ship and all parts between. You have to be."

The wind picked up, and they whispered to nothing: "We can't survive here."

Interesting is one way of putting it. I love the desperation in that last plea, and the artwork is great.
