Milk Bottle #15, Earth #7
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Wish
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Milk Bottle #15. Peep show, Eath #7. lust
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lillith Faire Second Stage), photography, frame (1006 FY), pastels (my current gen + romance card I2 "unacknowledged love"), glitter
Word Count: 227
Rating: G
Characters: Telri
Warnings: References to widespread stigma against blood-mages
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. And now, ending the day with some good, old-fashioned pining. Yay!
Telri travelled with Isshiri for about four months before she realized she was in love with him. And she knew it wasn't really a new sensation--she'd been swallowing butterflies every time she looked at him since practically the very first time, and finding excuses where they would have to touch--even if it was just their hands brushing as they helped each other through obstacles. It hadn't been a conscious thing, exactly, but looking back...well, it was pretty obvious, looking back. She just hadn't put it into those words.
But then...oh, but then, one night, he fell asleep before she did, and she saw the way his hair was falling carelessly across his cheek, a soft shadow in the moonlight, and she--
She knew, in that moment, that she loved him; she ached with knowing it. And She knew that he might not ever love her back, because he was a prince and so beautiful and she was just an Unthreaded blood-mage peasant girl, and...more than anything, she just wanted to wake up tomorrow and find that none of that would matter, that the next time their hands touched, he would hold it for just a moment too long, and maybe...maybe...
Very, very gently, she smoothed the hair out of his face, then closed her eyes and wished that he could love her, too.

Yeah...this is actually canon! So they're happy for a while, at least until her death, even if Isshiri basically has to temporarily break off most contact with his family for a while (because he's afraid of what his mother will do if she finds out and Disapproves of Telri)...but he does love her back, and they're happy together for a while, and have a baby girl!
But...yeah. They don't tend to have a long-term happy ending. But there's probably an AU somewhere where they do.
Not that I need another AU, since I have...like...thirty...but still.
