Lux does not regret.

She is aware she has done terrible things, but if she paused to regret, she would never be able to continue. Lux believes in her mission still, and every grand, universal change carries with it collateral damage. She knows this. She does not regret.

Mariko’s bright smile turned to horror; Mariko’s soft skin turned to rubber; Mariko’s easy warmth turned to loathing.

Lux closes her eyes, and braces herself before knocking on the office door and approaching her lost human for the first time in ten years.

Lux does not regret.

Except, this time, she does.

this was really powerful. The last line was great.

I am amused at the Platinum Blonde in this context. This is a nice little scene portrait, very good use of the miniature/drabble form. The last sentence seems a little... redundant? But the emotion and Lux's character still come through.

That's actually really sad and it kind of makes me not mad at Lux anymore, except not really, I'm still pretty mad at her.
