Octarine #14

Name: shadowsong26
Story: Castles on Air
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Octarine #14. It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us.
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (duck gallery), miniature, photography, brush (skulduggery), pastels (my current gen + romance card I3 "minor characters"), seed beads
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Sola
Warnings: Discussion of war, oblique references to genocide/Kellom's policies as king.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.

Sola knows her homeland is unstable, its foundations far less secure than her brother believes--it is a castle built on air, shaky bridges across the ether providing an illusion of support.

But the bridges burn, the city sinks, and all Sola can do is dance around it, shoring things up where she can, so they won't shatter completely upon landing.

When Andrell defects, Sola knows that impact is coming soon, and it's going to hurt like hell.

So she does what she can--dancing on air, preparing to save her sisters, and preparing to repair what's left when the dust settles.

I missed Sola! And I very much like what you did with her here, that's she's accepting by dancing in metaphor. It's super cool!

Oh, Sola. I wonder if anyone knows just how much she sacrifices.
