Azul 26: Magpie
Author: Kat
Title: Magpie
Story: In the Heart - Weird Hero AU
Colors: Azul 26 (Mythic hero) with SWL's paint-by-numbers (If Ivy was one. Wait, Ivy IS ONE.)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Duck Gallery), miniature, eraser (an AU where Ivy talks to animals in modern day), glue (You don't need the applause to know that you're adored.)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Gina could always tell when Ivy had been talking to the magpies.
Warnings: none.
Notes: A somewhat... loose interpretation of the prompt. Yes, I know that magpies don't actually collect shiny things. In this AU they do.
Gina could always tell when Ivy had been talking to the magpies.
Birds in general, actually, she always knew from the way Ivy's head tilted to the side. Other animals were harder. But the magpies...
She'd come in whistling, bright and happy. She'd drop a kiss on Gina's temple, warmly affectionate. And she'd give her something. What it was varied; a sparkly pebble, glitter nail polish, once a tube of sequins that Gina still had hidden away in her drawer. Something small, something shiny. Mating behavior.
Today it was a hairclip, rhinestones and silver. Gina liked the way it shone.
