Billy fucking hated gym.

What was the stupid point to it, anyway? Who cared if you could run a mile in six minutes or do thirty-eight chin ups or whatever mandatory torture was today? Total bunch of bullshit. Didn't help that he shared gym with Molly, so he got to watch his sister sprint off like a colt, leaving him panting in the dust.

He figured out how not to be noticed pretty early on-- find the middle and hide there, fake like you were trying-- and stuck with it, desperately.

Thank fuck he could drop phys ed in college.

I am with you and Billy because phys ed was the wooooooorst. Until I got to high school and got to be on a horse for most of it and in a musical for the rest.

Well, you do if you go to a super expensive private school. To be fair to them, though, I worked at the barn for three years afterwards so I made some of my tuition back.

That show speaks to me on a deep and spiritual level because I'm from Indiana and it's too real so much.

There are colleges with PE requirements, and fuck them. I think for some you can at least take an actual Intro To A Sport class or fencing or something, but I imagine those require waking up at obscene hours.

(I got in trouble so much during elementary gym because asthmatic kid couldn't do the damned exercises and of course I must be disobeying deliberately just to be obtuse. Fuck. Gym.)

Also this is a good fic but I really sympathize with the character, you know? :D
