CAMERA: FOLLOWING A CROW AS IT FLIES OVER A VAST KINGDOM
VOICEOVER: Once mages were the sole power of the kingdom of Feredar, but one power-mad ruler toppled any chance of peace between civilians and witches centuries ago. The kingdom now places mages as second class citizens, collared and enslaved, the worst fate anyone in Feredar could have is to be born a mage.
CAMERA: CROW LANDS ON A WOMAN'S ARM SHE PETS IT
Nida, the only daughter of the vicious king Sorell harbors the darkest of secrets. She is a mage. Before her mother's death, she cast about for a way to hide her daughter's powers from her husband and from the rest of the kingdom lest she be cast from power. Nida dulls her abilities by taking a potion daily, but she is noticed by her wicked sister, Tana.
Desperate to make Nida show her powers, Tana arranges for her sister to be attacked by mercenary fire mages. However, the attack goes wrong when Tana and her entire family are overthrown and the fire mages take over the kingdom. Nida herself is lost in the fray and wakes up with no idea who she is. A man is caring for her in his home; he says his name is Marcus Everyman. Nida, now named Marie, settles into her new life in the mercenary band, caring for their wounds and tending to the camps.
Everyman slowly begins to fall in love with his unwitting captive, despite his best efforts. He and Marie begin a relationship that quickly turns physical. One day while watching her sleep in the moonlight Everyman wakes her to inform her of a SECRET. He is actually the lost prince of the fallen Blood Nation, the most powerful mages on the planet. He's been in hiding since his family's decline at the hands of the Fire Nation. Marie urges him to fight for what is his and bolstered by her words, he mounts a daring siege against the evil rulers.
Everyman is nearly mortally wounded, lying next to his father's crown and in full view of the throne that is to be his. Marie, who had been safe from the fighting runs to him and cradles him in her lap. She weeps and as her tears hit his face, her POWERS AWAKEN and Everyman is healed. After a ceremony Everyman turns to Marie to tell her his secret. She is the lost princess of Feredar, another kingdom taken by the fire nations. Overwhelmed by the news, she passes out.
When Nida/Marie awakens, she is informed by a midwife that she is pregnant. Everyman is loyally by her side. Slowly, she lifts her hands to touch his cheek and forgives him for everything. She tells him that she has never been happier. Then, she dies.
Everyman steels himself and strides to his balcony. He pledges to take back Feredar in her name.
