Name: shadowsong26
Story: Lonely
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Rose #3. A single rose can be my garden...a single friend, my world., Clean Again #5. Body Envy, Dandelion Yellow #10. distant
Supplies and Materials: photography, miniature, canvas, oils, fabric, chalk, beading wire,
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Mel
Warnings: Oblique references to Feredar's anti-mage fanaticism, exile.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
The hardest thing was being alone.
In a Clan, you were never alone. Even if your house just held you one or two close-kin, you were surrounded by scores of cousins of varying degree. And that went double on a ship.
But everywhere else…
Well, once he got to Feredar, it wasn’t so bad--a city was almost like a Clan; there was noise and life all around. Except none of it was his. Everyone was a stranger.
He didn’t leave, despite the danger, ‘cause what there was, was better than nothing, but Mel’s years in Feredar were very lonely.
