Aqua #22, Cinnabar #3, French Grey #18
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Slipping
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Aqua #22. West, Cinnabar #3. Mercury, French Grey #18. My life is spent in one long effort to escape from the commonplace of existence.
Supplies and Materials: miniature, photography, canvas, stain, feathers, chalk, seed beads, novelty beads (“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” - Henry Ford), beading wire, glitter ("People aren’t either wicked or noble. They’re like chef’s salads, with good things and bad things chopped and mixed together in a vinaigrette of confusion and conflict." – Lemony Snicket, The Grim Grotto), glue ("The more you try to explain yourself today, the less clear your message becomes.")
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Deshell
Warnings: References to murder and orphaned and/or abandoned children.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Last Aqua! This takes place during a brief period, not long after Deshell brought Selmid home, where Fesha was really pissed at him.
It seemed that all the pieces of Deshell’s life were slipping through his fingers.
His career was blossoming--except for the butcher, who had resurfaced, had been so close, and vanished again.
He had saved Selmid--but the only way had been to take him from everything he knew, from any family he might have left.
His family was strong, healthy, happy--except Fesha was angry with him, and justifiably so.
The last bit of sunlight faded away, turning the harbor grey and featureless. Another day gone, and everything he wanted slipped just a little bit further out of reach.
