Between the ceremony and the reception, the bride and grooms sneaked off by themselves for a little while. Not out of any particular unhappiness; it was just a big noisy party, with lots of happy people overflowing onto everyone else, and Summer at least needed some time alone.

Her boys, in this case, didn't count as not being alone. They were... restful.

Felipe ducked into the reception long enough to get them all hot chocolate, while Summer bunched up her skirt that they could all sit together on the couch. Zack shucked off his jacket and tucked it over Summer's dress, so the white fabric wouldn't stain, and pushed one of her little jeweled flower pins back into her hair from where it was working its way loose.

She caught his hand and kissed it in thanks, and let him wrap it around her waist.

Felipe returned, passed out hot chocolate and sat down beside her, on her other side. He dropped his head to her shoulder, and pressed a kiss against her dress's strap. "You look beautiful," he said softly, against her skin.

"You do," Zack confirmed, and sipped his cocoa. "Oh, perfect temperature. God bless you, handsome."

Felipe shot him a finger gun with his free hand. "Looking pretty good yourself, gorgeous."

Summer giggled, and wriggled her shoulders against the couch, the better to settle back against Zack's arm. "We all look wonderful," she told them both, solemnly. "And everything went well."

Zack tugged her a little closer, up against his hip, and Felipe perforce went with her, the three of them leaning on each other in a comfortable heap. "Well, there was that thing with the rings."

Summer shrugged. "It ended well."

"And all's well that ends well," Felipe finished. He set his hot chocolate on the side table, and wrapped both arms around Summer's waist, burying his nose against her breasts. "And now we're married," he said, slightly muffled.

Summer transferred her cup to her right hand and draped her left arm over Felipe's back. "Yes," she said, softly. "We are. You know, I never thought I could ever get married. Because of us."

"Technically," Zack observed, "we aren't legally married. Not that I give a fuck about that."

Felipe snorted, tickling Summer's skin. "And you a cop."

Zack reached around her and swatted him. "You know what I meant."

"Do you think," Summer said, ignoring both of them, "that we were supposed to be here all along?" Zack blinked at her, and Felipe only hummed, so she went on. "I mean, we were... we always felt like supposed to be, to me. And this..." She gestured at the three of them. "This feels like it was supposed to be, too."

"Maybe," Zack said, "but does it matter? We're here, either way. We made it."

Summer knew very well that marriage was a beginning, not an end, but she didn't say it. Instead she smiled, and laid her head on Zack's shoulder. "We did."

And soon they'd get up, and go to the reception, and go home and make love and sleep, and tomorrow they would go on their honeymoon, and do it all over again. And someday they would have children, and fight and cuddle and hold hands and just go on living, like they always had. And maybe years down the line she would find her wedding dress in the closet, and remember today, sitting on the couch with her new husbands, drinking hot chocolate and knowing in her bones how very, very lucky she was.

She could live with that.

I accept my cavities. In fact, I welcome them.

They were worth getting to read this in it's perfectness.

Yes, my dears. You were supposed to be here. Here is perfect.
