White 13, Hills of Iowa 10: Special
Author: Kat
Title: Special
Story: In the Heart
Colors: White 13 (white wine), Hills of Iowa 10 (I was running out of time and one liners.)
Supplies and Materials: Pastels (this challenge: watching holiday specials), miniature, bichromatic
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Ahava's going to miss this.
Warnings: none.
Notes: Takes place about six months before Duncan's wedding. One of these days I should figure out what he looks like.
Leila isn't here, and Ahava is a little selfishly glad. Not that she doesn't like Leila. Leila makes Duncan so happy and Ahava can't dislike anybody who puts that kind of smile on her best friend's face. But. Sometimes she misses this, sitting on the couch with her feet tucked under Duncan's legs, just the two of them, drinking white wine and mocking (loving) the inevitable Christmas specials.
"I'm not going to stop being your friend," he tells her, during a commercial break. "I'm not ever going to stop being your friend."
"I know," she says, and forces a smile.
