White 15, Hills of Iowa 2: Bellissima

Story: In the Heart

Supplies and Materials: Pastels (this challenge: mistletoe), seed beads, oils (it only burns when I breathe), chalk (kissing contest)

Summary: Mistletoe in the wrong place.
Warnings: none.
Notes: Anna works for the CIA. 'Nuff said.
It was Christmas and Delia was hugely pregnant, laughing with her hand on her belly as she leaned against the doorframe. Anna went over to her, drawn irresistibly.
"Anna," Delia said, and smiled at her. "Ciao, bella."
And she was supposed to be on her guard, was supposed to be watching the party guests and most especially Delia's husband. He was the important one. He was her mark, and Anna couldn't look away from Delia.
"Hello," she said, and pointed up. "Did you know you're standing under the mistletoe?"
Delia laughed again. "Hoping to be kissed," she said, and tipped her chin up, her eyebrow quirking in invitation.
Anna could not bear to let that pass, so she stepped a beat closer and kissed her, a soft, chaste brush of mouths. Or she meant it to be but she couldn't stop, couldn't pull away after an innocent beat or two. Her hand crept up to Delia's cheek, and Delia's hand came to rest on her elbow. She didn't deepen the kiss, didn't ask for tongue, but it was far too long before she could pull away.
Delia blinked up at her, her eyelashes a dark sweep against her cheek, and suddenly smiled. "Bellissima," she said, softly, and Anna's heart skipped.
