"Coza..." Tlalli bit her lip. The older woman didn't stir in her train seat. Tlalli shook her head and slumped down in the seat across from her. "What am I doing? What are we doing?"
Coza answered with only a soft snore.
"I know, saving the world was my idea. Maybe... maybe it wasn't a good one, though. Maybe I should just leave it to the kids after all."
There was a long pause before Coza shifted in her sleep.
Tlalli sighed. "You're right. That wouldn't be fair to them. I've spent my whole life running, literally and emotionally, haven't I? I need to do this. I need to know I can. I need to do for those kids what I should have been doing all along." She yawned, eyed Coza's sleeping form, and nodded to herself. "I should sleep. Thanks for listening."
She closed her eyes and mumbled. "Love you."
Across from her, Coza smiled.
