“What are you thinking about?”
Florianna turned from the window and smiled at her husband. He looked handsome with a slight stubble on his cheeks and his dark curly hair pulled back from his face.
“I was just thinking of Tophe.”
Antonio smiled as he came to sit down next to her.
“I shouldn’t be jealous should I?”
Florianna laughed and nudged his shoulder.
“No of course not, I’m just wondering how is he. If he’s...”
“Forgotten you?”
Florianna nodded.
“No one could forget you.”
“He hasn’t written. It has been a year.”
Antonio was silent.
“You are okay if we write to each other?” She asked.
“Have you written him?”
Florianna nodded. “A few times, I’m sure he’s answered Elisabeth though she won’t tell me that straight out.”
Antonio nodded. “I don’t have a problem with you writing to him.”
Florianna smiled and reached for his hand. She grasped it.
“I have to admit I fear he’s ignoring me.”
“Perhaps he is.”
Florianna licked her lips. She squeezed his hand.
“He’ll write,” Antonio said suddenly.
“You think so?”
“I think he will. I think you know he’ll write as well, when he’s ready.”
Florianna sighed. “But when will that be?”
Antonio kissed the palm of her hand.
“Whenever he decides to pick up his pen and not a moment before.”
