curls
and smiles
bubbles caught
in baby hands
small fingers patting
across his face and hair.
She is a miracle—
all joy and bright devotion,
and laughter like a shooting star.
She claps, bedecks his hair with bubbles,
and this moment could not be more perfect.
If he had a picture of that day, of
her, so small, so young and so much his,
his daughter still, and still within
his home, his life, his family—
He keeps it in his heart,
something to hold to
'til she comes home
still laughing,
full of
joy.

But this.
I once wrote a poem about three pages long on the same topic.
And to about 1/3 of the impact.
This is just.
