"Who was that man?" It sounds casual, but Gina knows it isn't.
"A friend," she replies. "From elementary school."
It had been years since she'd seen Roger, but she'd been happy to run into him, happy enough that she'd risked a coffee date. She'd even brought the children, hoping it would look as innocent as it was.
Grant's hand closes on her wrist and she winces. Evidently she'd been wrong.
"You are never to see him again," he says, very calmly, and tightens his grip until her bones grind. "Don't embarrass me, Gina."
"I won't," she says, and looks away.
