Lust 3, Neon 2: Love You For That
Author: Kat
Title: Love You For That
Story: In The Heart
Colors: Lust 3 (sensual), neon 2 (big sale) with Kelly's paint by numbers (Michael and Joy never can decide who gets the better end of things.).
Supplies and Materials: Seed beads (Joy and Michael), pastels (falling in love).
Word Count: 200.
Rating: PG.
Summary: Michael and Joy consider each other.
Warnings: a brief mention of third parties treating domestic abuse as a joke.
Notes: Michael and Joy it is!
She's beautiful. Joy is beautiful.
Not physically, though she is that-- perfectly proportioned, waving blonde hair that she wears to her waist. Any woman can be physically beautiful. It's her sheer exuberance, the... the joy in every move she makes. Her smile, happy or sexy or pleased. Her quick little movements, strong and graceful-- Joy turns everything into a dance.
She doesn't care what people think of her, doesn't care what names they call her, because she is so purely happy in her life, as if the world is a gift bought just for her.
Michael loves her for that.
--
Michael amazes her.
He's so strong, and so alive. She's seen what he goes through every day, out with him-- people who shout at him because he parks in disabled spaces, tell him he's too young for a cane or make 'jokes' about her abusing him when he gets another cast. It infuriates her, but Michael just ignores them.
It's that strength, and that calm. It's the way he lights up when he talks about writing. It's the way he embraces the earth (if not its people) as a giant playground, built just for him.
Joy loves him for that.
