This wasn't Gina.

He watched her waltzing in the arms of her current beau, her scarlet dress curling around her ankles. Others were watching her—yes, and whispering too, though he cared less about that.

She was losing herself. His little cousin, so eager to please, so friendly and kind, had become a diamond of the first water, a glittering creature of the ton, sharp-edged and cutting. This wasn't Gina.

Gina looked laughing over the crowd, and his eyes followed hers to Vanessa Churchill, a wicked-eyed shade in crimson velvet.

Gina was lost.

He didn't know how to find her.
