It isn't that Gina regrets what she's done. She dislikes the business, but someone has to run it, and she's... removed... the only other candidates. If they happened to be her only remaining family, well, what else could she do?

Summer was hers. Is hers—she still dreams of that small face, of her limp hand spattered with blood. Summer is hers and they killed her, and Gina did what she had to do.

She looks after Ivy and her family still. They're hers too, even if Ivy doesn't want her anymore.

She protects what is hers. She always will.

Oh, God, the haunting of this piece. I love how steadfast Gina is here, and how her love endures, even though Ivy won't have anything to do with her anymore.

You write her so strong. And I like that she doesn't give up on Ivy and that she'll keep on loving and protecting her.

It's heartbreaking to see Gina's steely resolution and sense of responsibility/possessiveness turned hard and cold by tragedy and her own choices.

Yeah. Gina's in it for the long haul, regardless of whether people return her affection, especially in Mafia AU. She's lost all her family there, by her own choice, so she hangs on to those she considers hers. Thank you.

Oh, thank you, that's exactly what I was going for. This is the same Gina, just... a step further than she is in canon, through circumstances, stuff she couldn't help, and stuff she could.
