I wake up knowing the world is going to end. It's not paranoia, or anything like that, it's a simple feeling inside me, a feeling that says all of this is going to end soon.

So I kiss the person I love, I tell my friends they're wonderful and I sit on the roof of my house, waiting to see the end of it all.

His heart races, his body shakes. Everything about him is panic. He holds his wife close, he tells her he loves her, he tells his children that they are beautiful and he tries his damndest to spend the last moments he has doing something lovely.

I wake up with the sun in my eyes, wind whipping around me. The world feels new, feels peculiar.

I get to my feet, look around, and think, “Maybe this is the start sf something new.”
