Daffodil #9, Crimson #20,

Name: Blossom

Word Count: 393
Rating: PG-13
Summary: They don't have enough room for another animal, right?
Warnings: none
Notes: Meet Raynard one of Bernard's older brothers and where Adam receives many of his quirks from. In Coven it's not uncommon for people to refer to their husband and wife as their mate. It's also not uncommon for demons to have many kids. Alright, let's begin. Comments are welcomed!

“Oh Ray-Ray,”

Raynard placed his book down as Alain, his mate, walked over to him with something behind his back. He knew that tone and promptly shook his head.

“No.”

“You don’t know what I’m going to tell you!”

“I do, whenever you use that nickname you want to host another animal and the answer is no. I know you’re a vet, but we don’t have to keep every animal.”

Alain frowned and pulled the small kitten from behind his back. “Look at this little guy and tell me you can say no.”

Raynard looked at the small black and white kitten nestled in Alain’s hands. The kitten looked up and mewed at him before he rubbed his head against Alain’s fingers. Ray had to admit, the kitten was cute, but he wouldn’t be swayed.

“We already have two cats, two dogs, about five tropical fish, two snakes, and one baby dragon. I don’t think we need another cat.”

“I saw the way you looked at him you think he’s cute too.”

“No I didn’t.” Ray turned back to his book as Alain chuckled.

“Oh, yes, you did. How can you say no to this face?”

Ray turned back to the kitten that looked up at him again. He resisted the urge to pet him and shook his head.

“No. Now I’m sure we can find this little guy a nice--”

“Papa, did dad agree?”

Ray looked over at the door to his three sons who peaked inside.

“Not yet, but I’m working on it.” Alain smiled.

“Dad, we promise to take care of him!” Michel said.

His twin, Adder, nodded. “Yeah we promise!”

“We do a good job taking care of our turtle and he can get his checkups in Papa’s office. Can we keep him? Please?” Percy, his oldest, said.

Ray looked into the expectant faces of his children and the smug one of his mate’s. He sighed and closed his book. “Does he have his shots?”

“Yep, I checked him over in my office.” Alain said.

“Alright, then let’s go get another bed, a bowl, blanket, and a few toys for him.” Ray said as the boys cheered and Alain kissed his cheek.

Raynard grinned as he walked out of his office hand in hand with Alain.

They did have the room for one more animal, only one more.

I'm pretty sure that wins the adorable award for the day. :)

Oh, hey now, Alain. Bringing the kids in on this is cheating. CHEATING.

Nice job. Very cute. :)
