Dallu slowly ghosted one finger down the sleeping baby's cheek. His baby, and Taz's, a little of him and a little of her, and so small and new, full of potential like the most awe-inspiring thunderstorm he'd ever seen.
Her eyes fluttered open--his eyes, icy blue, but they stood out--she was almost as dark as her mother, except those opal eyes. He smiled, humming softly, trying to soothe her back to sleep.
They drifted shut again, fine dark lashes resting on the baby-soft cheek.
She was one week old today, and every day Dallu found her more precious.
