Dove Grey #25
Name: Blossom
Story: Pleasant Surprise
Colors: Dove Grey 25. (You never had her, so you haven't lost her/ like spare keys)
Supplies and Styles: canvas, stain (Many would be cowards if they had courage enough. Thomas Fuller), seed beads
Title: Acting
Word Count: 453
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Elliot wants to be happy for Alene, but it's hard when his feelings for her get in the way.
Warnings: Elliot may come off a creepy in some places
Notes: This is Elliot! He's a Fire Demon like Alene and Bernard. His family isn't as powerful as the Winchesters, but they have a good standing in the community. He's known Alene since childhood and doesn't think anyone is good enough for her except him. I do feel for the guy, but I'll make sure he gets someone of his own. ^^ Well enjoy!
“Hey Elliot!”
Elliot turned around and smiled as Alene jogged over to him. “Hey Alene. It’s been a while.”
“I saw you last week.” Alene smiled.
“That’s still a long time.” Elliot said as Alene laughed. He took in her smile and the way her hair stuck out of her ponytail. He knew Alene pulled a double shift at the hospital, but those hours would end with the war wrapping up. Elliot looked away before he stared too long. He didn’t want Alene to know about his feelings yet.
“So what is this good news you told me about?” Elliot asked as they walked over to the nearest bench in the courtyard of the hospital.
“Do you remember Bernard?”
That obnoxious jerk. “The nice guy you’re dating? Yeah I do, what about him?”
“He proposed! I’m engaged!” Alene squealed, showing him the pendant and the ring.
Elliot felt his stomach drop as his throat suddenly became dry. That couldn’t be right. His sweet, kind Alene couldn’t be with that obnoxious Bernard who didn’t think before he acted and caused a lot of trouble with his antics. Elliot didn’t care if most of his antics were in the benefit for another person he wasn’t good enough for his Alene.
Elliot returned when Alene called his name again. “Elliot?”
“Sorry about that. That’s wonderful news! Congratulations!” Elliot mustered a smile as Alene hugged him.
“Thank you! I’m so happy! I really love him and his family is so nice.”
I doubt it. “That’s great! I’m sure you two will have a great life.” Elliot ignored the way his stomach twisted.
“Thanks. You’ll be at the ceremony right?”
Elliot opened his mouth to decline when he saw the hopeful look in Alene’s eyes. He swallowed around the lump in his throat and nodded.
“I wouldn’t miss it.”
Alene smiled and hugged him again. “Thanks! Hey, I finally got some time off. Want to go grab some lunch with me and Cathy?”
“Sounds great.”
“Great, let’s go.” Alene said. She got up from the bench as Elliot followed and walked with her back to the hospital. He wanted to tell her not to marry Bernard, but he saw them together. He saw the look on Bernard’s face when he gazed at Alene. Bernard loved her. He would make sure Alene had everything she needed.
Elliot knew they were good together, but he didn’t have to believe it.
Besides, it’s not like she knew how you felt, so you haven’t truly lost her. Elliot ignored the small voice in the back of his mind and tried to focus on Alene’s happiness.
He wanted to be happy for her. It would just take some time for that to happen.
