Notes: Celine is the sister of Martine Bauldry, one of Henri's wives. Gabriel is on the King's Council
Celine watched as her husband bounced their three year old daughter, Aurora, on his lap.
“Do you really have to leave?” Celine asked him.
Gabriel looked up at her. He sighed.
“The King wants me to escort the princess over to Albabias. I won’t be gone for long, Celine.”
Celine came closer to the table. “But we need you here, Gabriel.”
“I know Celine, but the King order’s are the King’s orders. I cannot refuse the King.”
“What if I talked to him? I’m sure the Queen would understand with my condition-“
“What condition?” Gabriel asked worriedly.
Celine smiled softly. She pressed her hand to her stomach. “I am with child, Gabriel.”
Gabriel stood up. He walked over to Celine and smiled. Little Aurora reached for her mother, who obliged her daughter and took her into her arms.
“We’re having another baby?”
Celine nodded and pressed a kiss into her daughter’s dark hair.
Gabriel put his arms around his wife and kissed her gently on the lips.
“I will talk the King. I’m sure he’d understand that I wouldn’t want to leave you during your pregnancy.”
Celine smiled up at her husband. Aurora started to cry forcing her parents to break apart and tend to her. They smiled at each other over the toddler’s cries. Gabriel thanked the heavens that they had sent him such a gracious wife. But now it was time for the nurse to tend to their firstborn.
