The rain was intense enough to hurt where it touched Faith, the droplets felt bruising against damaged flesh. Her left leg was a mess of pain, who knew someone stomping your knee could hurt that much?
Her phone died, she didn’t know if the text went out. It could be worse, an injury or fifty was better than being sent away to a “spiritual growth camp”. She’d rather bleed out in the street in the middle of the neighbourhood she grew up in.
