“I wanna speak to the writers,” Dominick’s voice was muffled by the pillow she buried her face in.

“I offered you an aspirin, normal people don’t like being in pain.”

“I don’t like it, it’s complicated.”

Explaining her issues with being given pills was a little too much to do when there was a hammer hitting her brain from inside out. They weren’t even on first-name basis, much less in trauma-talk basis.

Dominick curled up tighter in the uncomfortable bunk bed, the pillowcase smelled like neutral detergent. One less thing for her overwhelmed aching senses.

She was used to pain.
