Lapis Lazuli #3, True Blue #17

Name: shadowsong26
Story: Unfair
'Verse: Lux
Colors: Lapis Lazuli #3. flux, True Blue #17. To have a friend, be a friend.
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 5: Second Stage), photography, tapestry (True Blue + novelty beads), canvas, brush (hubris), oils, charcoal, seed beads, novelty beads ("Boys like us are misunderstood/A little bit bad at being good/We'll grow old but we don't wanna have to grow up." - "Boys Like Us", Heartland)
Word Count: 140
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Alex
Warnings: Adultery, divorce, Alex is kind of an awful person.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Alex's gender remains a mystery to me. I know Alex is either a man or a woman (i.e., definitely one or the other and not NB), but everyone involved refuses to confirm which. It is very annoying.

Alex was, to put it bluntly, fucked. In every possible sense of the word except the good one.

Which was really--fucking consequences, or at least that’s what Shane had said, the one phone call she’d taken after filing for divorce. After Faith left, too. After even Mom had changed her goddamn will.

All Alex had wanted was a little bit of fun. Being married to Shane was great, obviously, Alex loved Shane, loved being married; divorce was the absolute worst case scenario, but at the same time...

Then there was Faith. Who was young and sweet and the sex wasn’t exactly better, but it was different in a good way.

That wasn’t really so bad, was it? So shameful? So deserving of consequences?

But then Shane had found the goddamn pictures, and Alex had lost everything.

And that, really, was just not fair.
