Daffodil 12: One
Author: Kat

Story: In the Heart
Colors: Daffodil 12 (build a fort)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 4: Here With Me, Dido), canvas, glitter (Slips away the child/in the book from a party/her birthday from/the other children/she is leaving)
Word Count: 202
Rating: PG
Summary: The minutes, the days, the months.
Warning: parental kidnapping, depression
Notes: none.
one minute
The letter crumples in his hand.
No. No, no, no.
one hour
He called the police to file missing persons reports. He called in sick to work.
There's nothing else to do.
one day
He still hasn't slept. He moves restlessly around the house, putting clothes away, making up the beds. Olivia will want a tidy room when she comes home.
Any minute now.
one week
He sleeps now, for hours and hours. He knows it's not healthy, but he's afraid to do anything else. If he does the smallest thing wrong, he'll never see his daughter again.
All he wants is to see Olivia again.
one month
The police keep telling him that there's little they can do. What Yvonne did is a crime, but she is Olivia's mother; Olivia must be safe. They've put out the report. He should go home and wait.
He's been waiting.
one year
He's waited long enough.
The police obviously have better things to do. But he's relatively wealthy. A private investigator isn't beyond his means.
The investigator says the trail's cold; she may not find anything. But she'll do her best. And he... won't stop. He'll find his daughter.
No matter what.
