Cool Black 11: shimmering lies
Author: Kat
Title: shimmering lies
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Cool black 11 (how I kept my mind is a wonder)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (Lilith Faire Second Stage: Favorite, Neko Case), seed beads, canvas, miniature, glitter (Forget Me Not)
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Summary: Arelie keeps thinking that she could go back.
Warning: mention of adultery.
Notes: And Arelie is Ahava's biological mother.
All through that long dusty summer on the road, Arelie kept thinking that she could go back.
She could. She could return to Farid, and he would take her back in a heartbeat. He would leave his wife for her. They would get married. She knew the obstacles ahead of them: surely she could overcome them? Surely they could get through it all, together.
But it was a lie she was telling herself, and she knew it was. Some obstacles were insurmountable. Some loves were impossible. Some lives were separate, never to combine.
She never did let herself go back.
