'Verse: Untitled Intrigues Story
Colors: Cerise #3. Beloved plaything, Hills of Iowa #10. I was running out of time and one liners.
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lillith Faire Day 5 Main Stage), photography, stickers (“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.” -Mandy Hale), yarn
Word Count: 262
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Sefalin
Warnings: References to sex.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Sometimes, Sef wonders what he's doing here. The politics are complicated enough, before hearts get involved (and he's sure of his own, and Del's, and even Tahnrin's, though his other lover is harder to read).
And there's no way this can last forever.
His posting to Elanhe isn't permanent--can't be permanent. And even if it were, Del will probably have to marry someone else someday, regardless of what Larien does about the succession. Tahnrin...might not, if Larien picks Del, but Sef doesn't want to choose between them at all, let alone for that reason.
Besides, he is a priest, and can't marry anyone.
But then he'll catch one of Tahnrin's sardonic smiles, or Del's hand will brush against his when they pass in a corridor, or he'll spend the night with one or the other, talking and laughing and making love, and...
It doesn't matter that it isn't forever. What he shares with each of them is real. Impermanence doesn't change that. As a moon-priest, he knows that better than most.
While this lasts, for however long it lasts, it is beautiful. And the pain when it ends will be worth it, at least for him, and Tahnrin and Del are both old enough to know what they're doing, so he has to believe it's the same for them.
So he smiles when he sees them, shares his time and his heart and his bed, and treasures each moment they have together.
Because he loves them, and he believes they love him too, and while it lasts, that is more than enough.

Yeah, there's plenty of that with these three! ...not a lot that's internal, actually, but there's a lot of Politics floating around and it's a vee, not a full triad, so there's that kind of Negotiation going on as well, soooo yeah.
